Just read the article below on uncrunched about how no one goes to Facebook anymore because it’s too crowded.  Maybe the tech community thinks that way because they’re overloaded with social media but I haven’t noticed the normal population abandoning it.  The experience has definitely changed since we’re interacting with and publishing to larger groups of people.  However, Facebook offers us something Path just can’t - we want to be able to look into the lives of not only good friends but also acquaintances and people we might not even know personally.  Most of my friends (myself included) like to poke around our friends of friend’s pages and that’s something you can’t do on an extremely intimate network.  This is super addicting in social settings such as college.  I’ve gone into my friends list before to clean it out but I never want to get rid of anyone…what if they post a juicy photo album (I’ll be honest here…)?  It doesn’t hurt me to keep them around.

The problem occurs when people stop posting content to Facebook because they feel uncomfortable…but I haven’t seen that happening at a drastic scale yet.  I’m a fan of Path and closer networks but I think it’s a different experience and not sure how both will fit in people’s lives yet.
